Located 2 km from the nearest village center and in a unique location with a few buildings in its immediate vicinity, the house is at the highest elevation of the western side of the valley and overlooks the long snowy peaks of Akdağlar to the north. It sits right on the edge of a red pine forest, with the forest to the west and the valley floor descending steeply to the east.

The land has a refreshing northerly air flow and dry air, diametrically opposed to the hot weather on the coast, and mild winters, making it a climate suitable for living without large temperature differences between summer and winter.

We wanted to place the building like a bird's nest on the land, which is largely composed of rocky ground, and we wanted to take advantage of it with the least amount of struggle with the ground.

The characteristics of the site pointed to a highly focused settlement alternative. The steep slope to the east, the direction of access, provided both a challenge and an opportunity to place a strong structure.

North: Strong mountain views, suitable for the most comfortable outdoor seating in summer

South: Access direction, warm enough to be protected for summer, unique winter garden potential for winter

East: Access, steep slope and view of valley floor

West: The pristine forest protects from the scorching western summer sun.

We have positioned the building and the garden with minimal intervention by making the best use of the available energies of the land. The building was designed to support the life around it by creating cool zones in summer and warm zones in winter, creating micro spaces for its surroundings in all seasons with the effect it creates both inside and outside.
