Hakkında:

The town of Yesuzumlu is one of the mentioned towns of Fethiye, which is known as 5 towns. Its distinctive socio-cultural and architectural texture, and the fact that the weather has always been less humid and 4-5°C cooler than in Fethiye, has made Üzümlü one of the most popular centers of Fethiye along with Kayaköy. In the center of the town, which sprawls over the fertile plain on one side and the red pine-covered hills on the other, the old parcels of land stand out with their narrow and organic forms.
Located in the center of Üzümlü, just behind the square, the parcel was preferred by the owners from Istanbul because it was within walking distance to the bakery and grocery store. Despite its narrow entrance, the parcel, which expands in a rare way in the center and whose view of the horizon with the Geyran mountain view will not be blocked, had a structure with a floor area ... total area of 45m2, with a stone structure on top. Historically a barn on the lower floor, it has been renovated in the last 5 years, with two unusable rooms and bathrooms on the lower floor and a kitchen and living room on the upper floor. The upstairs sunroom, which was probably originally called a sticker in the region, has become a narrow and impractical balcony after the renovation.

Transforming this structure into a small house for a family with 2 children to come and stay in all seasons was more limiting and challenging than designing a new structure. We reorganized the unusable plan without touching the prominent and thick structural elements of the existing structure. We were able to increase the usable areas from 45 m² to a total of 60m2 on two floors while staying within the existing building footprint.
It was nice to see 6 people having breakfast side by side in the attractive 9.3 m² kitchen of the Little House, and 12 people eating at the big table in the garden with its wooden floor and shade. Small is beautiful.

The kitchen, which is lowered from the upper floor to the lower floor and has a direct exit to the garden, has become a remarkable space, the heart of the house, with its large glass overlooking the garden. | ![]() In the narrow entrance we were able to create an effective windbreak and put a clothes rack, washing machine below, storage above and central instantaneous water heater and electrical panel in between. | ![]() The living room, which is defined by the hall entered after the windshield, the staircase with cedar steps and hemp rope railings leading to the upper floor, and the cast iron stove, became a small and useful space. |

![]() We have created functional interiors with simple colors and natural materials that are spacious and heartwarming, without going beyond the existing building trace, structurally reinforcing and making the spaces useful. The owner family brought the house to life with selected and handcrafted furniture and decoration items from their time working in various parts of the world. | ![]() | ![]() We were able to place a narrow/long guest shower and cleaning room just behind the kitchen. |
